Today, 5 May, is Children's Day in Japan.
Kodomo no Hi is originally a day to celebrate boys' growth in the past, but it was reborn as a day to think children's happiness and to thank their mothers.
We decorate outside of our houses with koinobori (carp-shaped streamers), wear helmets made with origami, and eat chimaki, which is similar to rice cakes.
We also take a bath in hot water with calami, a kind of iris. It is said to remove the evil from our bodies.
